Yeah I saw that, but at most competition I go to they have a lever that participants pull on to release the sand, is there a guide on how to build that?seitanBacon wrote: ↑December 16th, 2019, 7:25 amThe SOINC page and event supervisor guidelines outline the testing apparatus and a general guide on how to build one
I've built 8 or 9 of these over the years and would be glad to assist. My design is not nearly a pretty as some, but is very functional and very portable. I've used the same unit now for 20 years, so I'd say it is also fairly resilient. If you'd like some help PM me with an email address and I'll send you some pics of it.xiangyu wrote: ↑December 16th, 2019, 8:13 amYeah I saw that, but at most competition I go to they have a lever that participants pull on to release the sand, is there a guide on how to build that?seitanBacon wrote: ↑December 16th, 2019, 7:25 amThe SOINC page and event supervisor guidelines outline the testing apparatus and a general guide on how to build one
Last year me and my partner just cut angles on the ends of the wood we were gluing instead of notches so we achieved basically the same effect as a notch and it worked fine and weighed lesssciolyperson1 wrote: ↑September 24th, 2019, 9:50 pmI don't believe that is a common practice when building boomis, it damages the wood structure and gives no significant, if any gains as opposed to gluing a piece of wood right on the other.

With the bonus this year, that sounds entirely possible - it would take a boomilever at around 7.4 g to hold all 15 kg. Though it would take some serious effort and many trials.MadCow2357 wrote: ↑December 18th, 2019, 6:03 pmI've heard reports of someone breaking 2.7kdankdecidueye wrote: ↑December 18th, 2019, 5:51 pm How are scores looking so far?
