(except better quality than the ones that I partially wrote)

I don't think enough teams will join to get good results from a single state. We could hold a mock national for all teams from states affected by this (or just all teams in general). The question now is, who would write the tests?
Maybe the NSO? Or another state.

Name, We can definitely get the volunteer support off the site (this is the biggest scioly group anywhere). There are alumni all over the forums that would probably write and grade a test for a potential NY and SOCal mock state championship, we just have to ask. Some current members (like me) will also help out, because our state tournament is unlikely to be canceled.
EDIT: Ima make a spreadsheet with a sign up for potential test writers, and if we can get the spreadsheet filled out we should be golden.

A summary:
Div B and C states are canceled
NY will not send teams to the national tournament
Lower Hudson regionals tournament is postponed indefinitely
Mid Hudson and Mid Western regionals tournaments will go forward as scheduled as of right now
The official letter can be viewed on the NYSSO website
here

I'd suggest for Div C competitors to write for Div B, and alum to write for Div C. This would avoid any conflict of interest between the test writers and the competitors.

I agree. Working on a spreadsheet signup for events now. If we do succeed in making a virtual tournament, I think it will have to be test only, as having builds simply is impossible to judge online, especially when the dimensions for everyone is different.

I'd be down to contributing for this virtual tournament.

Me too, I’ll help spread the word if you want. Anything to try and fix this.
(Sadly, I do have to understand that this is for our safety and well-being, but it still hurts)

I would love to write a few tests as well.
This situation is difficult, but it's great that everyone is coming together and trying to make the best of it, and I'd love to contribute by writing for you guys. I think that this solidarity between schools is a beautiful representation of what the Science Olympiad community should be.

Assuming that this is not achievable, but maybe something could be reconsidered in the late spring... (under the assumption that things will at least be more under control, after seeing the decrease in COVID-19 cases being reported from
China...)
