Yes, back in '08 in Division B at States.

Wow all the studying and prepping was a waste in this event.
1st, my proctor (presumably the same person who made my test) couldn't pronounce "taiga" correctly (taigra)
2nd, there were 6 "stations" but we didn't actually move around, we sat there and flipped through pages
3rd, there were so many irrelevant topics, like "Of the fifteen _____ that stand between humans and starvation, ten are grains." it could have been food, grasses, etc. etc. way too general. also this: "Some grains are: oat, wheat, millet, ____. and corn." <--- this could have been filled in with any number of different answers.
grains aren't even part of the rules. I expected something off topic, but not this far off.

Sad. Unfortunately, there is a lot of area for interpretation in Ecology. "Taigra" though, does not fall into that category. We also had stations, but we did move around. There was no real reason to have stations, because it's not like we had specimens or anything. There were just different questions taped around the room.
We've never had that many crop questions, but those you had were extremely general. We had something once about why the grasslands used more crops than meat for grazing, and we said it was because the soil was extremely fertile. The answer was because grains were more efficient in terms of trophic level. I thought it would at least have something to do with the biome, which is one of the reasons we went with soil fertility.

Our proctor at Regs. did not even write the test! We went up to ask him a question and he said he did not know Ecology!!

Anyways, working on a cheat sheet for state, any ideas for what to put on? There is so much but there is so little!!!!

You should be able too. As long as you don't write on the page, I don't see a problem with it. I was always allowed to. Just show your supervisor so they can see it's only one sheet in the page (I have seen teams stuff multiple pieces of paper so it looks like a single note page).

Yup. The notes clearly say any information in any form. With the sizes computers can write in, handwriting may not be the most efficient, but it definitely would work. I would recommend typing notes, but leaving a little space. If there's anything you can't remember while cramming, write that in the blank part. That's what we did, and I also did it for Ornithology, and Dynamic Planet and Reach for the Stars last year.
