[spoiler]Disinfection does not always get rid of microbes that cause disease. Like sanitization, disinfection also serves primarily to reduce, not completely eliminate, pathogens.[/spoiler]
Though they both are similar in how they do not kill all of the microbes, sanitization is still different, as it's main goal is to lower the amount of harmful microbes to match with public safety standards. In general, disinfectants tend to kill more microbes that could be considered harmful. They are very close in definition, but still not the same

Just a pedantic note: the name of an organism is only ever italicized if it's part of the Scientific name. So, that would be Candida albicans, or simply C. albicans. "Candida yeast" would not be correct, nor would Dengue Fever.

A small note, I'm sure, and I probably sound really annoying for bringing that up, but it's the second time that I've seen this on this thread.

Agreed. Also, instead of referring to prions as a “microbe” the phrases “microbial agent” or “causative agent” (of a disease) are more correct.

Aedes aegypti is the name of the mosquito that transmits Dengue. Break bone fever is a common name due to the joint pain associated with Dengue.

Here’s a question that I’ve been trying to figure out lately:

The presence of cardiolipins and porins are separately cited as evidence of endosymbiosis. Why are cardiolipins found on the inner mitochondrial membrane, but porins on the outer mitochondrial membrane, if both are also found in bacterial cell membranes?

I must admit I don’t know the answer but I hope that someone does.
