Also, anyone know where to find good groundwater maps? They had some at regionals and I want to practice for states.
Well...maybe try it beforehand? Make sure your well works the day you pack your aquifer?
Test the pump/syringe during station 3, wiggle the well around a little(gravel or sand etc. can block the water from being pumped).

Right now, it will not: http://soinc.org/sites/default/files/up ... 0-12_0.pdf

I believe this is only tentative, although last year almost all the events stayed the same. I'm not sure which one of the events is replacing it, maybe Shock Value?

I think aquifers is more well-liked than shock value was, and I'd hate to see it go, but I think it will. Aquifers contains the best of most Science Olympiad categories. What to do...
PETITION IT'S REMOVAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree, this is the only event where you actually present something to people. I think presenting is a very important skill to have. Even if it is removed, I hope will be back someday. Come on, AWESOME is in its name.:(

I think that events that students like and are easy to run will always be back, so it'll probably be back in about four years or so.

Anyway, personally, I would never do Shock Value, but it is a very practical event. There are probably more people who will need to know how to wire a circuit that learn about aquifers. However, in my opinion, I would not expect many people on scioly to become electricians. There are probably more people on here that are going to be geologists than electricians, but this is an educated guess.

Awesome Aquifers is replaced by Helicopter Egg Drop. Shock Value/Electricity and Magnetism replace Optics.
