That reminds me, we had this tie-breaker on our regionals test that told us to name as many food-borne illnesses and their causative agents as we could. I just wrote down "Clostridium perfringens infection" or "Clostridium dificile infection" for those two, but are there actual names for those diseases?

Oh ok, that makes sense. In that case, though, maybe change "clostridium" to "perfrigens" or something. That way you won't get mixed up with botulism and the other one.

Can someone verify if this formula is correct? (This is derived from a more complicated one with symbols.)

I mean, It would make sense because the "# infected" in the numerator AND denominator would cancel out, creating dying/exposed, so I think it is correct.

Yeah, the test writer are supposed to focus on food borne, but they sometimes throw in a common disease that's not.
