SilverBreeze wrote: April 10th, 2020, 3:40 pm Also I remember talking with my table of four classmates once and one of them said to everyone she didn't like Chinese people because they were communist... I was the only Chinese kid at that table... This was in second grade.
That’s so horrible, especially since they were so young... no matter how much we’re proud of our many freedoms in the US, people are still being taught what to believe from an early age.

On a side note, I wish there wasn’t quite so much stigma against communism (I’m definitely going to be attacked for saying this...). It’s mainly because of history and the anti-communism propaganda that was spread due to the Red Scare, and I wish that the views of the very rich more than 50 years ago didn’t affect our views today so drastically. I do not see why we should have a much stronger aversion to communism than far right forms of government such as fascism. Of course, history has shown that communism will never succeed and will eventually be corrupted because of human nature, but the ideas, although extreme, should not be completely shunned simply because of their association with corrupt governments.
Also, why must everyone who is socialist or is even just on the left side of the political spectrum be labeled as a communist?

Sorry about the rant lol.

Here's the crowd chart, if anyone's interested in redoing that. https://www.politicalcompass.org/crowdchart2?showform
From T2D's poll:
"Statement: "Those who are able to work, and refuse the opportunity, should not expect society’s support."

I ran across this question in a political test, and I became curious about the general SciOly.org population's response."
Are we assuming the opportunities in question are "good" ones(very subjective, but I can think of a few that most people would object to)? There are a lot of jobs out there that we really wouldn't want someone close to us to be working in, be they unsafe, perceived as immoral, or something else.
That is what I assumed.

Also, now that I'm thinking about it, I think I'm sort of surprised to see that my economic and social positions received almost the same score... I expected my economic position to at least be a little less negative.

Here's the chart. I went back through the 2 previous threads and added the users that are still active. I have shortened Eaststroudsburgh13 to "EAST," and I've included all of his past results. If you would like to see a less cluttered version, removing people on your end won't affect this one.

For reference, my current score is -6.88, -6.51 if you wanna see the full result of my transformation. ;)

When it comes to American politics, I do try my best to balance my own beliefs with what is actually feasible to be implemented, but since this test is belief-based, that's how I get where I did.
