Will/Did you make it to nationals?

We don't even have enough people to fill the few events we are participating in, much less all of them! I am doing anatomy sans partner . . .

I have to agree with Zyzzyva98. We had a girl on our team recently take 3rd place in ornithology at a very competitive invite (almost 30teams) sans partner. Likewise we have another girl who takes every ecology test by herself and does well, sometimes though if there's a free person they give them to her but she's pretty beast (our coaches are trying to find her a partner for regionals/state). I do have to say, having a fair chunk of people (we have like 23) allows the coaches to choose the best for the team. But our B team which consists of approximately 8 or so people sometimes does really well. The first girl i mentioned started off this year on our B team and wowed everyone by getting 2nd in Ornithology (beating our varsity) sans partner at an invite with about 24 schools. If you work hard it usually pays off... usually... lol

I hope we make it to State. No way to make it to Nationals, though.

HA. We'd be be lucky to make it to state. And by lucky, I mean someone would have to bribe and pull some major strings. Well, it's our second year at this ... I guess that's go to count for something. But yeah. We didn't even get 5th in our invite.

On the other hand, we have a lot of kids who do super well in their events.

Ha, will we? I don't know, really. We've qualified multiple times in the past, but not recently. All I can do is hope, I suppose - and study hard.

Good luck to everyone in their upcoming competitions! (: Especially you, zyzzyva98, considering we'll probably be competing against each other at State (same events, maybe?). If I remember correctly from last year, you guys are pretty good, and I think it'll be interesting to see how things go this time.

Hey, FullMetalMaple, might I ask what school you go to? Not many Kansans stop by here. And good luck to you as well. (Though slightly less if we're in the same events. Which do you do?)

I go to Kapaun Mt. Carmel. A different part of the state, but still. I noticed there aren't many Kansans - I felt kind of lonely when I posted in the Kansas thread yesterday, ha! I'm the only member of my team on this site, too.

I've competed in Remote Sensing, Dynamic Planet, Write It Do It, Picture This, Astronomy, Microbe Mission, and Protein Modeling. I hope to compete in Ecology and Optics next year, too. Unfortunately, though, I'm only competing in Astronomy, Dynamic Planet, Microbe Mission, and Protein Modeling at Regionals (and maybe State). Looking at your signature, I don't think we'll be competing directly against each other in State, if we both make it.

When are your school's Regionals, out of curiosity? Mine are the Saturday after next.
