Re: New York 2020
States is unlikely to share tests because they may reuse them for other states. What if we do an exchange with SoCal where we write tests for them and they write tests for us? That might be better than NY ppl writing NY test cause then u can’t participate in your favorite events.GoldenKnight1 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2020 3:14 pm Maybe you don’t need to many tests written if the State is willing to share those tests with you that were going to be used at States.

Re: New York 2020
I respect the decision of the tournament heads and understand the need for precautions, but it goes without saying that I am extremely disappointed, and I’m sure my fellow New Yorkers are as well. Even if our hard work didn’t pay off in competition, it certainly does in the amount we learned.
An online tournament is a great idea! Maybe we could write tests for a SOCal tournament and they could write ones for us.

I apologize for restating the idea ET2020 wrote, I didn’t see it. (Coincidentally, he is my brother and we were discussing this before posting).

Re: New York 2020
That would be great as long as someone would be willing to take the time to grade them as well. Another thought I had was finding an Invy that hasn't happened yet and have everyone take those tests once they are released. The only problem are builds like Wright Stuff and Ping Pong, which are very dependent on the conditions of the roomET2020 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2020 3:43 pmStates is unlikely to share tests because they may reuse them for other states. Re: New York 2020
What if we had non NY or SOCal members and alumni write the tests? I think that would make the tests more diverse, as many people will contribute to making a set of tests (with many different influences), then we publicly release the tests to the forums, and have teams enter their scores in google form which compiles a spreadsheet of teams from specific states, and use the honor system to determine who would win medals......
EDIT: Or we could have set aside event proctors (volunteers off the forums to grade tests, which are submitted electronically?

Cool idea, the format could be used for future possible online invitationals.NadiaT wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2020 3:45 pm I respect the decision of the tournament heads and understand the need for precautions, but it goes without saying that I am extremely disappointed, and I’m sure my fellow New Yorkers are as well. That is actually a very good idea, especially releasing it publically- benefits us all!BennyTheJett wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2020 3:49 pm What if we had non NY or SOCal members and alumni write the tests? Golden Gate SO tests will be released publicly in a few weeks, maybe those would be a good idea? Idk, if we cant get the states tests that is.OwenBall wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2020 3:48 pmThat would be great as long as someone would be willing to take the time to grade them as well. Re: New York 2020
I don't think enough teams will join to get good results from a single state. We could hold a mock national for all teams from states affected by this (or just all teams in general). The question now is, who would write the tests?
