We thought you guys would still win, but you definitely weren't on your A game. We didn't really notice Goff though, we thought Eagle Hill would get third.wzhang5460 wrote:I really think this State tournament was really weird. Again, the entire time we were thinking we were going to get 3rd, even during awards. Murphy lost by 2 points and if Eagle Hill didn't bomb Battery Buggy (39th, tiered for not labeling batteries) they would've gotten 2nd at the event, and 2nd overall, losing to us by 5 points.
I was told our tower was going to bomb, as it held not nearly as much as it was supposed to, but it didn't end up that bad (23rd). I was in an event, so I assume everyone was likely exaggerating. Scary to think that one little thing can change your scoring drastically.wzhang5460 wrote:I really think this State tournament was really weird. I'm curious as to what the winning Wright Stuff time was this year, do you happen to know? I remember last year Goff was getting 2 minute times during practice, but either ran out of time or one of the planes crashed into another, didn't get a redo and ended up in 3rd.Goff18 wrote:My point of view, as one of the Goff team members:
We were in shock, and I still am. We were sure we were going to get 3rd or 4th. We have only ever been to Nationals once, nearly two decades ago in 1999. Our district's high school, Columbia, is also at Nationals this year.
Any questions from the rest of the state?
Thanks, we're all very overwhelmed, and our entire community is very excited. The flight time was just over two minutes, I believe.Goff18 wrote:JasperKota wrote:I'm curious as to what the winning Wright Stuff time was this year, do you happen to know? The results this year were really interesting, but congrats and make NY proud at nationals!
