At the competitions I've been to, that hasn't necessarily been the case. The barrier mirror has been facing the laser more often in my experience.

It could technically be facing the side walls.....

Of course if the barrier mirror is facing the laser, it's not much of a barrier

With my box set up, when i adjust my mirrors, the laser dot shines on 27 but faintly shines on 12. What would they count?

Sounds like you split the beam. It will depend on the event supervisor but they tend to only count the brighter of the two dots.

Rule 4.m says: "Only the intended, normally reflected, path of the laser will be counted (e.g. secondary beams due to beam splitting or halos must be ignored)"

Do you guys think hitting five mirrors and the barrier is a good score even without the accuracy part?

Probably because accuracy cant get you negative points anyways
