i've never used a planetarium or projections and i'm wondering if they are better than star charts.

Don't worry, I got experience in an inflatable planetarium, which will be used at states (NY).

What exactly are "slides" or "projections"?

slides are the things that come up in powerpoints and projections are the things that are projected on a wall

So... slides with pictures? and sort of like a projector with a star chart?

I guess. Would they give you a slide of the entire sky or just the constellation in question?

In the tests that my teams have had at regionals and at state the power point slides or projections have been photographs of the night sky. If they use star charts they'll have enough for everyone and hand them out.

I'm guessing just a part of the sky... maybe a couple of constellations at most... I'll find out tomorrow DXX
