That's horrible. How badly did they do? I'm lost for words.
What event did Pentathlon replace in the first place? They should bring back that event. I wonder if the people in charge of Science Olympiad look at these forums...

I think it replaced mystery architecture.
I don't think anyone in charge of SO looks at this forum. We've been complaining for AGES

Well, it's not like they can change it when the rules are released. At least I don't think so.

I wish they could.
I just hope this won't be an event next year...

ugh. please, no. i hated awesome aquifer. i couldn't stop falling asleep during practice. none of the people in the event could. and our coach just kept droning on and on. *shudder* i love pentathlon, but if you really wanted to replace it, replace it with something better than awesome aquifer. science word would be cool, but NOT awesome aquifer.

OMG i loved science word!!!! lol
and ok, i know at one point i posted on here my hate for pentathlon, but since competing in it, i have really come to enjoy it! the competition itself is very fun, and i think it should stay an event.. afterall, there IS still science involed, so you can't argue that it doesn't belong in science olympiad.
how many of you people who hate pentathlon have actually been on the event? and competed?

For some reason I don't believe that you're an admin. And I want to know: are there any other reasons to keep Pentathlon besides "it's fun"?

Maybe a giveaway event to teams that are usually terrible at the regional or State level?

Um, yes, we can. Just because a dish has some sugar in it doesn't make it a dessert... and just because Pentathlon has some science in it doesn't make it a good SciO event.

I have never competed in Pentathlon, but I've done full practice events for it... My coach wanted me to do the event, but I flatly refused.
