Thank goodness Scrambler doesn't exist anymore. It's such a stressful event.

Also, I really messed up at Nationals. I had three options and two of them would have worked. Instead, I chose the wrong one and had the car go veering off.

199) Setting your Mission Possible machine on fire.
200) Licking one of the samples in Rocks and Minerals to check if it's salt.
201) Stealing another group's calculator.

I don't think your #199 would get you kicked. Every venue I've been to so far has had a fire extinguisher in the room, whether it was intentional or not.

During the many years I ran Mission, I never DQ'ed any Mission device for being on fire, and my sucessor says he won't either. I had a bunch over the years, and I have some pictures laying around somewhere.

I would run them as long as they were safe, earning and losing points, then stopped time (which also stops all point changes) and put the fire out. Scoresheet was finalized at that time. If I (or one of my people) put the fire out, there was no boundary violation.

But I think the thread item would have been great had it stated "Build and run a Mission device that's designed to do nothing but catch on fire," or add a small fire to roast some marshmallows. A better fit with the original intent of the thread, which I consider THE BEST SO THREAD OF ALL TIME.

129) have your bottle rocket nose dive onto someone's car's hood and dent it.

(this actually happened to me during our first tournament with the event. Our rocket was heavy with a 4.5 foot long, heavy tube and a plastic golf ball tip. we left a note saying "sorry we hit you with a rocket" and leaving a phone number. never got a call back. why the proctor decided to run the event near a full parking lot is beyond me.

Yeah i know this is old but i sent my rocket onto the roof the day before State. We had to get a janitor to get it down.

Putting "dragon's eggs" down the sink will get you DQ'd for sure. It said on the test in Potions.

#216. When they give you ping pong balls in experimental design, test how many times it takes for the proctor to get hit by the ball before he yells at you. Then test it on all the other teams so they can't concentrate.
#217. Take other teams supplies (i.e. calculator, pens, pencils,) and throw them out the window.
#218. in air trajectory, aim your machine at the judges and start shooting it at them.
