Well the way my regional was organized 10 teams went at a time, the head supervisor went over the rules, then the helpers did the actual testing. When the supervisor went over the rules she originally said no to symbols like heart and such. This caused a big stink! everyone in the room agreed that EVERYTHING was a symbol (and it is if you think about it). Eventually, the supervisor agreed that the rule wasn't very clear and allowed us to draw hearts. (but if worse come to worse draw an actually heart with the ventricals and such...) I still love this event! :D
SO stressed!

Again, it really depends on your judges. Personally, I'd let that pass... but then again, I'm also in PT, so I'd be kind of biased.

I am in PT and I think that you should have to draw an actuall heart not a heart symbol.

What kind of scores are people getting at regionals or states?
And how difficult are the words?

what words were used at your Regionals :?: my regional is so stupid because they don't do all of the events... anyway, what would you people do if the word was... "science" or "matter"?

how easy were the words...

what did you/ your team get, what did the winning team get...

and the rule say  is legal but :!: and :?: and + and - aren't right... except + for longer word and - for shorter word...

How much harder are state words than regional words?
To people that have been posting examples of their words: Were those from state or regional competitions?

Our regional words were WAAY easier than our state words. We got 21 words at regionals, and like 11 at state.

Some of our regional words: bone, lung, kingdom, electron, atom, cell

Some of our state words: mastication, cloud computing, angiosperm, iteration, caldera

yeah, we knew we nailed it after regionals with those easy words, but at state we were a little uneasy, but still thought we did pretty well. We got 2nd in Indiana, so that's definitely okay with me, haha.

the judge choses the words and therefore could chose moon, sun, and cat or gravitational potential energy matter and science...

Dudeincolorado, we have a lot of the same events!
yea, i noticed that 200 words is nothing to be proud about. we got 9/25 words right and was tied with another school, but my team skipped fewer words so we placed first.

well, i guess if i get to proceed on to state, i will definitely start practicing earlier ><

what state r u in????
