You study fossils, pretty simple, just read the rules and study those on the national fossil list.

are the ?'s about the fossils a long time ago, or do they also ask about the living fossils too? Like, how the fossils live now...DAAAAH!!! i m speaking in oh joy language...

Depending on the individual event supervisor you may or may not get questions on the organism today if that taxon is not extinct. You should certainly get as much information on the fossil as possible first, however it would certainly be a good idea to compile as much information as possible on it's living counterpart as well. This of course does not apply for our taxa that are extinct.
