Are we assuming the opportunities in question are "good" ones(very subjective, but I can think of a few that most people would object to)? There are a lot of jobs out there that we really wouldn't want someone close to us to be working in, be they unsafe, perceived as immoral, or something else.

Economic Left/Right: -5.5
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.97
I'm confused? Also I remember talking with my table of four classmates once and one of them said to everyone she didn't like Chinese people because they were communist... I was the only Chinese kid at that table... This was in second grade.
