we lost our ENTIRe national team, minus myself.... (>.<)
sigh... last year we were undefeated... this year, we are straight second and our Bteam has beat our A team every single time!
Texas is slightly less predictably for div. B this year... :?
there is nothing wrong the B team beating the A team
just shows how hard people are working or how lazy they are

haha, i wish. the issue is that just FOUR people, can ruin the WHOLE team.. :(
so for this next invitational our coach is mixing up the teams :o we will see how it goes....
we do a state selection (based on practice hours, team votes, and medals) and i know we can DEFINITELY pull a good state team.... I can't wait! unfortunately state isnt till may. :(
oh yes ... im forgetting regionals. :|

Hmm, we think Chardon might squeeze by this year for once. Both B&C went into Kenston pretty much unprepared and we took third on both teams. It was a pretty big ego boost xD

In Division B, we beat all the Mentor teams, and were beat by Longfellow (who came up from Virginia so they don't factor in to the state) and Solon. We weren't expecting this at all, and it kind of revved us up so to speak. As for Division C, it was pretty much the same situation over there, though I lack all the details. Our high school team is generally pretty Eeyore (from Whinny the Pooh ;) ) like, but this got them all excited, so I'd like to see what they come up with.

That said, here in Ohio, we have some pretty tough competition. Mentor, Magsig, Solon, Centerville, Mayfield, and plenty more are hard to beat. Also, for us, it's a bit early in the season to tell for sure, but things are looking good so far!

Keep in mind that invitationals often fuel a big rush by teams that consistently make it to nationals because they sometimes, surprisingly, lose. That's why us beating St. James (a Kansas heavyweight) on Saturday was bittersweet for me.

zyzzyva makes a good point, teams that are good, sometimes lull themselves into a false sense of security, teams that are really good snap out of these false senses of security quickly when they lose and use the failure to motivate themselves. Of course now I am part of that team that needs to avoid becoming too comfortable with our streak of state championships...but I am confident that the team will be able to pull through.

Sadly there's only ten of us on my team (if I counted right) so we have no chance against high schools like Bob Jones and Grissom! They are at least 6x as big as we are!! :( We'll sadly never see Nats!

Hey hey hey, size is irrelevant. Maybe they have a bigger pool to pick from, but it's quality over quantity. Perhaps a school with a larger size may have better odds of doing well, but that doesn't mean a small school that works just a little bit harder than the large school can't beat them.
