40 dollars is the most it could ever cost you, each 1 7/8" T40 is 2.50, and hubs are 2 dollars each (18 total). If you print your own hubs, you can lower it to 10.MadCow2357 wrote: ↑November 18th, 2019, 4:44 pmYes that would work. As for the Banebots wheels, they are on the higher end - $40 for a set of 4 T81 wheels and hubs, but T40s are slightly cheaper.Things2do wrote: ↑November 18th, 2019, 4:08 pmI was thinking about removing the brass axles and buying a metal rod with the same O.D. to replace them without having to buy new adapters and new wheels... Or, I know threaded steel rods fit inside of these tubes snugly, and that would help to stiffen 'em.MadCow2357 wrote: ↑November 17th, 2019, 5:09 pm If you have the time I'd just rebuild the whole thing. Use sturdier axles and wheels with better traction, like Banebots wheels. If you don't have time, two CDs will probably be better than one..
And, aren't those BaneBots wheels expensive?

Re: Gravity Vehicle C
I tried printing my own hubs last year and that didn't work out too well because the set screw holes wouldn't hold. Did you just epoxy it?sciolyperson1 wrote: ↑November 18th, 2019, 5:04 pm40 dollars is the most it could ever cost you, each 1 7/8" T40 is 2.50, and hubs are 2 dollars each (18 total). I make two holes for set screws, and file two dents into my axle where the set screw screws into, and glue the setscrews into the hubs, and glue the edges of the hubs.MadCow2357 wrote: ↑November 18th, 2019, 5:12 pmI tried printing my own hubs last year and that didn't work out too well because the set screw holes wouldn't hold. Re: Gravity Vehicle C
I don't own a 3-D printer. Neither does anyone else I know, and I can't afford a library card to use theirs... Do y'all think these would be worth a shot? Except for the tread, they look the same to me, and I can always put something on 'em for traction. I know they most likely won't be as good, but for less than the price of each wheel or hub...sciolyperson1 wrote: ↑November 18th, 2019, 5:29 pmI make two holes for set screws, and file two dents into my axle where the set screw screws into, and glue the setscrews into the hubs, and glue the edges of the hubs.MadCow2357 wrote: ↑November 18th, 2019, 5:12 pmI tried printing my own hubs last year and that didn't work out too well because the set screw holes wouldn't hold. As for traction, the skid has worked for 5 Regions 1st and one State 5th, so I'm not too worried about it. I doubt I'll have much, anyway, with the weight I'll be running and the amount of friction in my axles without any weight...
Sorry to keep bothering y'all, but I don't have a partner to bounce ideas off of...

ngl that sounds like a steal, you can cover the cost of the kit with just that amount of wingnuts tho

Once again... What would you do with 2,000 hex nuts and 400 wingnuts? And 2 more balloons than you have wheels...
Library card would be $50: https://chattlibrary.org/get-library-card/
They've got a laser cutter, too: https://chattlibrary.org/4th-floor/

Don't most schools or school districts have a 3d printer? I know even our middle school had one.

I'm homeschooled...
Looking through the Image Gallery has given me some ideas... I would recommend it to anyone that needs ideas.

What image gallery? The image gallery hasn't been up in like 1-2 months. I would like to know though.

Re: Gravity Vehicle C
Any idea where the image gallery could be found? The link is broken for me but it would be very helpful to see some design examples.
Also, in a sort of unrelated note, could someone offer me some insight on how the banebots wheels are attached to the axle? What axles work well? I currently have a 1/4 in threaded rod I had planned on using but I have no idea how that would connect to the banebots wheel or the tiny hub connector I've seen in some videos.
Sorry if my questions are kinda stupid, I'm probably a bit dense.
