Haven't had state but can tell you what was on regionals.
There was a matching category with lots of "iso" words. Iso means equal, so that should help, there was lots of forecasting based on cold/warm fronts, precipitation, etc. Basically, if it was everyday weather, it was on there. Prepare for everything. Whatever was on your regional test should help you to prepare, you can also read the rest of this thread and the [wiki][/wiki] for more information.

Is there anything that anyone encountered on their test that kind of threw them off or wasn't on the rules? States is tomorrow... last minute cramming >.<

Good luck at state, (on a Tuesday?) the thing that threw me off the most was vocabulary. Make sure you have everything down in that section. But if you're strong there, you might want to work on another part of your notes.

So do we. Study storms, they aren't likely to be a big part of the test but know the basics, definitely.

for me, one of the hardest part of meteorology is learning and identifying the types of clouds

There's this
cloud dichotomous key from Marshall, and while it's oversimplified, it does help you ID different types of clouds.

It helps a lot to put pictures of the clouds and their description in your notes. That's what I do. It shouldn't take up much space (against that six-point font you should be using even small pictures will look big) and it shouldn't be hard to locate pictures.

Thanks!
The website helps with narrowing down the possible options the cloud could be.
