Assassinator wrote:Bears. Ursus arctos californicus, commonly known as the California grizzly bear, is an extinct subspecies of the grizzly. The bear was an integral part of the Southern California food chain, frequently impacting food chains at a national level. Unlike other species sharing its habitat, only the California grizzly bear could prey on any mammal. However, not all its hunts were for surivival; on many occassions, grizzlies have been observed to severely injure prey only to not eat them, with the injured animal often reviving to live a severly hindered life. For this, the California grizzly has received recognition as the "second greatest mauler."

Southern California, bears, impacting (proctoring) at the national level. Sounds an awful lot like bearasaurus to me.

Some typos, in case they end up meaning something useful: surivival, occassions, and severly

I will be very amused if this clue actually targets bear because it seems too obvious an answer to be correct.

Well just to be safe I protect Bearasauras based on the reasons above.

In not sure how picky this sassy is, but I'm the past there have been worries about improper spelling on protects. You might want to edit to the correct spelling: Bearasauras.

Who else is from SoCal? Entomology? Extinct subspecies might point to her love of Fossils, though she hasn't been to Nats though. Just a thought.

Just in case this isn't bearasaurus, I protect Bernard for the reasoning below.

Jack Dempsey, the Manassa Mauler, is a boxer from Colorado who lost a fight for the Heavyweight title(hence, the second greatest) in a fight where he knocked down his opponent, but was forced to retreat to a neutral corner, giving his opponent time to recover instead of being knocked out and thus losing the fight.(injuring prey but leaving them to live a hindered life). Dempsey later opened a restaurant and hotel in SoCal(and many other restaurants around the country), as well as assist in the campaign of Senator John V. Tunney from California(California-> national influence). Dempsey' connection to Bernard is that he also co-wrote a book on fighting with Bernard Cosneck.

Bernard also assisted bearasaurus with supervising EV at Nationals this past year, giving him a connection to bears and national influence.

Given that Assassinator has just been exalted, and that East was the one doing the awarding, is it possible that it's a clue from East's ghost about the true identity of Sassy? That it could be one of the most recently exalted members?

If this is true, the most likely Sassies are:
JasperKota
NeilMehta
Dragonfruit35
Raleway
Him and NeilMehta are both dead

Assassinator being exalted is most likely a joke since a few of us were discussing that earlier while East was present. Also Tailsfan, considering NeilMehta is dead, you may want to remove him from your list ;) .
