It's UTF+8...whatever too lazy to type your name :) -'s turn.
Sorry, caught up with Pi day! (even though it's tomorrow)
And also, I'm too lazy to type my name too! I just Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V (vaporize!!!) it whenever I have to log in :D :)
Anyway,
Use the best-fitting answer. Oops, I rearranged the letters!

a. Permineralization
b. Recrystallization/Replacement
c. Trace Fossil
d. Carbon Film
e. Trapped in Amber
f. Unaltered Remains

You should be glad I gave you the answer choices. :| :ugeek:
P.S. Don't look at the URLs. It's cheating.

Happy Pi day!
6. was a coprolite, meaning trace fossil.
1. was a mammoth tooth preserved in ice, meaning unaltered remains
4. was a tough one. It was recrystallization/replacement.
Since I already revealed the answers you got wrong, why don't you go anyway?

Four was really annoying, I had no idea what that was...

Anyway,

Image

1. Name the superclass of this specimen.
2. Name its genus
3. What important role in the fossil record does it have?
4. What abilities did it have that other fish do not?

Also, happy pi day to you! Of course, I'm waiting until 6/28 for Tau day...*snaps fingers*

1) Did you mean subclass? Subclass Tetrapodomorpha
If you meant superclass, I have no idea.
2) Genus Tiktaalik
3) Advanced tetrapods, ancestor to amphibians
4) Their necks could move independently of their bodies
Oh, and by the way... Proof that Pi (and Tau) are constants: All circles are similar and therefore the following proportions can be noted: . After some rearranging: ! And Tau: ! [snip]

[hide]Don't know if this counts: Tiktaalik is a tetrapod, so it has legs, and fish don't have legs...? Haha, your answer is better than mine.[/hide]

Tiktaalik are not true tetrapods. What makes them special is that they have fins that they can use like limbs, to walk on land. Tiktaalik is the sister group to tetrapods. The superclass is Osteichthyes.

1. a. Radiometric dating
b. Relative dating
2. a. Superposition b. Lateral continuity c. Original Horizontality d. Cross-cutting relationships
3. 60 million years
4. I have no idea what a and b are, the pictures are pretty bad (I guess that's part of the event)
d is Elrathia, Cambrian
c is Phacops, Devonian
