I found a website that said that it's usually at an altitude of about 10,000 feet or more.
I'm not sure how trustworthy that is, since I've only found it on one site so far though. I'm thinking it would depend on the latitude, which is why most sites dont have a specific altitude. Like say the Apline tundra would exist at lower elevations near the poles as apposed to on a mountain near the equator, if that makes any sense..

Correct me if I'm wrong, because I'd like to know. :)

The man who gave us the test at regionals said that state would be more "hands-on". Anybody know what he means?

hands-on... maybe some animal fossils, etc?
at our regionals there were skeletons/remains of several specimens and we had to make a food web...

So....I based my noted for my regionals tomorrow on this: http://soinc.org/sites/default/files/EC ... T_2011.pdf Can someone tell me if that'll be good enough? I've been doing Ecology for about 5 years, but, I'm still worried.

Haha, lucky. I only got to do Ecology at exactly one competition: Nationals in 12th grade. I wanted to do it since it became an event when I was in 10th grade, but captains always gave it to different people. I only got it because our WIDI people were also our Ecology people and the events were at the same time, so I got to do it. We got 5th =)
2009 events:
Fossils: 1st @ reg. 3rd @ states (stupid dinosaurs...) 5th @ nats.
Dynamic: 1st @ reg. 19thish @ states, 18th @ nats
Herpetology (NOT the study of herpes): NA
Enviro Chem: 39th @ states =(
Cell Bio: 9th @ reg. 18th @ nats
Remote: 6th @ states 3rd @ Nats
Ecology: 5th @ Nats

Has anyone seen any regional ecology? It's in there on the rules, but I didn't see it at Invitationals or Regionals, and my friend in C Division said it wasn't on their States.
