There are multiple ways to fix alignment problems
A. get at new axle since you think that may be the problem
B. Make one of the axles adjustable so that you can compensate for any variations
C. Align in well using measurements and straight edges
Wheels issue just look around a bit the internet always has wheels you can buy, salvage them from a siblings toy car, look at hobby stores etc.

I think you should get both of them as threaded rods. How thick is the front wheels? A picture would be nice. We used an erector set, with the chassis as metal, and erector set motor and wheels(with locking nuts, which only work with threaded rods) What parts are you using for your Buggy?

I am having trouble upping the speed on my buggy. Real competitive on accurracy. Got a new motor and good gearing but keep losing the friction fit on the main gear.

I had two at regional and am working at overpowering with 3. I am going to talk to rc mechanic at hobbytown tonight to see if four would burn it out in testing. May test with two and up to four @ state.

up the battery power if you can or if it uses gears, you can have the gears get smaller with each step from the motor. both can increase speed.

make sure your axles are positioned as straight as they can be... try using a carpenter's square to draw a line perfectly straight...

make sure that the sides arent bent and the wheels dont wobble. if u cant find a solution, than compensate and aim to the opposite direction than the car moves.

hey, small question.
Our buggy has a really bad sideways skid. I want to fix it because it makes your results kind of inconsistent.
I know that skid goes forward but has anyone else had a sideways skid?
