You choose which events you drop before hand.

DC hasn't sent a team yet even though their state tournament was supposedly two weeks ago. Is it possible for Texas to send two teams to nationals this year (both Seven Lakes and LASA)?

How would you know that DC hasn't sent a team? I haven't been able to confirm the winning teams in particular (although, I've barely tried so far), but statements seem to indicate that DC will send. If someone else wants to go find out, I'd recommend reaching out to Fred Siegel and seeing if he knows (I believe he's still involved with DC SO).

To answer your question in particular, in 2011 DC declined their bid in late April, after which MN received a second Div C bid - so, it's possible.

I've heard that other states allow more than one team from a regional to advance to states. Don't know if that's true.

It is definitely true. New York (depending on the region) allows 2-6 teams per region to advance. It's probably only the smaller states that allow only 1 to advance, since New York has the most scioly teams in the country.

I think they meant a school can have multiple teams at state.

Other differences include:
- Having 18 people on a team (NC, NJ, maybe others?)
- The ability to choose some events to "drop" (Texas does this, maybe others?)
- Not having any regionals (MA lol, and some smaller states)
- Having B and C states on different days
