I got fifth in trajectory. I hit the pin three times out of four though, so I thought I would get first, apparently there was some very stiff competition. I've gotten several 7ths, 8ths, and 10ths, in the past three years, but trajectory was my only medal.

in NY the states are like double the regional but doubleing a states medal to make a national one would make a huge medal
National medals are large, maybe not double the size of our medals, but definitely bigger. Also they weigh much more
they seem a lot larger at first but i saw side by side the difference is slight although the mass difference might be caused by thickness....

They are thicker, shinier, and easier to show off!!!! ;)
I've got 1 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals from Nats...and yes, when you have multiple medals, they are fairly heavy.

Yeah... they get pretty heavy,
1st in Sci Crime Busters :D :D
2nd in Penta.

I got 2 more this year :D :D

2nd in Climate (Boy was that the biggest surprise ever!!) and a 4th Place in Stars

If that was sarcasm, which I suspect it is, I would say exactly what jazzy009 just said. Even if you're in a not-as-competitive state, at least your high school's best place at regionals ever isn't ninth. :x :roll: :(
