Re: Instruments?
I dislike the piccolo. It manages to be loud and high-pitched at the same time.

Re: Instruments?
Ah, but that is half the fun of it! Actually, the noise doesn't bother me like it bothers most people (even other piccolo players). It bothers me sometimes when people who can't play piccolo try to play it, but generally I am fine. I like it because a) it isn't a popular instrument so it tends to be easier to get recognition or join an ensemble, b) it is difficult to play and most flute players I know either can't play it or can play it (poorly) for a short period of time before getting winded, and c) it's always fun to sit next to the 2nd violins in orchestra and play high C.binary010101 wrote:I dislike the piccolo. Eh, no one likes piccolo. Oh well....that's part of the fun of it!

i think a well played piccolo sounds just fine, of course i don't overly like the sound of oboesgenes_girl wrote:Ah, but that is half the fun of it! There is generally only one that has to be heard across an entire band or orchestra and that is almost impossible. Especially in orchestra when we are towards the back and have to play over the strings.

Re: Instruments?
I've played Euphonium for 4 years now. It's the most underappreciated instrument ever. I also play trombone, trumpet, piano, drums, tin whistle, and bodhran. Just out of curiosity, what kind of euphoniums and/or baritones do you guys use. I play a Willson.

Re: Instruments?
It is quite unappreciated, though we have more baritones than trombones.
I think I play a Yamaha, but I'm not sure, its not my instrument, its the schools.
