I may be the only one who still doesn't see how that clue pointed to starpug.

*Sigh*
The first letter of every third word on the second line.
Stars above, white, twinkling, slowly moving across the sky, radiating great energy. Placed so motionless, unwavering, yet the grandest is unseen.

Thanks Sassy!

Since I'll be crazy busy tomorrow I protect The Eviscerator, given that the clue is "eeny, meeny, miny, moe" which is often followed by "catch a tiger by the toe" and his avatar shows Hobbes, who is a tiger

I protect fmtiger124, because the rhyme involves a tiger and he takes German.

Also, because I want an ID clue.

Edit: Sorry that I haven't been much help lately, guys. I've been swamped with schoolwork and life in general.

The identity clue, as promised:
I once came upon a traveling salesman, whose actions gave rise to such great anger within me that I was driven to kill him on the spot. Three great stories were told to me, however, and I let him live.

She just couldn't bear to part with her Companion Cube. Every time I brought up, over the intercom, the task of euthanizing it, she burst into tears and wouldn't stop for hours. The tests were getting nowhere. Eventually, the Companion Cube got so fed up with her crying that it decided to euthanize her and repeatedly stabbed her, all the while shouting, "DIE, ALPHATAURI, DIE!".
The officers have, once more, failed to solve a very simple clue. It was, as harryk determined, a German version of "Eeny, meeny, miny, moe". Now, what is "Eeny, meeny, miny, moe"? To quote Wikipedia, "a children's counting rhyme, used to select a person to be 'it' for games". The pool of selections: the living officers. Guess who was "it".
The next clue shall be up sometime other than now.

Me, too. All of the officers would have had to be protected, because we had no way of knowing who would be "it."
