Re: Compute This B
I don't remember them exactly. There was one about a TORRO number, and the wind speeds didn't exactly match the number.GoNerdHerd wrote:It could've been a scoring error...do you remember what the main problem/short questions were?

Re: Compute This B
My coach told me that they give you points any data. Right or wrong. It's just that your answers have to be somewhat accurate. And then everything in the graph should be specific.starshine wrote:Is faking data better than getting actual data? Because some teams apparently faked the data and beat us, which is interesting.
Ok, that's a bad question. But how is that possible?
Hope this helps.

Thank you! Do you have any idea what "somewhat accurate" may mean?Insert Name Here wrote:My coach told me that they give you points any data. Right or wrong. Re: Compute This B
I mean that it has to be a logical answer. For example, if you were asked for the annual amount of acres burnt each year in the US (*wink, wink), it would be i big number like 5,000. Just put a real number that could fit the question or situation or whatever you call it. Hehe.starshine wrote:Thank you! Re: Compute This B
This isn't true. You need to find the data specifically from noaa.gov, or you won't get points.Insert Name Here wrote: I mean that it has to be a logical answer. Re: Compute This B
That is correct. That's why they have you link to where you got the answer for each question, so they can tell if you actually found the answer or are just BS'ing it.FueL wrote:This isn't true. Re: Compute This B
Is faking data better? Absolutely not.
The supervisors should be able to tell whether data is right or wrong; there shouldn't be any misinterpretation on the one website. Never, ever, fake the data. It also diminishes the integrity of the competition, which makes up a huge rule in itself.
