I took AP Bio last year and I have a review book for that, I wanted to know what important topics everyone has seen on their tests and has been stumped by.

Take a look at the
2009 test exchange. There are several tests from previous years there which may help you. The questions on biomes are slightly outdated, but you can ignore that part and focus on the general ecology questions.

On mine, I'm using one side for Grassland, another for Taiga. I'm putting in adaptations, general information (such as temp. range and precipitation), a map of the biome in North America, and I'm drawing in a Trophic Pyramid, which is one of the things I'm most worried about. I'm memorizing stuff like selection and succession. I'm interested in seeing what other people are adding too.
I usually use 10 pt font for notes, 11pt for minor headings, and 12 point for major headings. More space that way. Also, on my maps, I cut out the area that's not in the biome so I only get what I need.

If you guys have a multiple-choice test, consider yourself lucky. The NYS test writer has been giving short-answer and open-ended question tests for who knows how long. So it's hard studying so that you can write something about ANYthing and everything, which is basically how broad this event is -.- Whoever is lucky and just so happens to study topics that the test writer pulls out of the hat will do the best.

I was talking to the guys who did the event last year, and the first one said the questions were about Ecology. "Really?" I asked, and he nodded. I proceeded to ask him about different kinds of questions, and he only said stuff like, "Oh that," and "Yeah, I think there was one or two." The other guy was just as vague. His defense was that he guessed and managed to pull a 2nd at state, so obviously it wasn't too hard. So much for relying on my teammates.

my cheat sheet consists mostly of specific adaptations and some random things that I found about the biomes. for states I'll add a small section on the other biomes (not just deserts and taiga) to be safe.
it was I think size 7 tahoma font. It's really easy to read. you can actually afford to go smaller.

How specific should we be about the Taiga and Grassland biomes for our cheat sheet? So far I have the climate, adaptations, fauna, and plants. I was thinking of putting anything I would probably forget if I have room on the sheet. Thanks to anyone you replies.
