In the invitationals, our battery buggy got in second tier because it did not have a point coming out of the front.

This is a great example of how in building events, you must memorize the rules front and back. I know some people who were put in 2nd tier for the same reason and even my partner and I had a small issue with that at an invitational when we did not pay attention to the rules carefully. For those of you who have not had your regionals yet, take this advice. Read your rules very,very carefully because getting 2nd tier in an invitational is nowhere near as bad as having that happen at the real competition. Also, send in any clarifications you may have because you never know if your interpretation of the rules is different than the national committees'.

Hey guys. My team just gave me this event (the kid who had it before moved) and there are like 2 weeks till i compete so i'm a bit stressed and confused. Can buggy be remotely controlled?

No it can not be remote controled also it may not have anything other than what is stated in the rules ( so no microchips or semiconductors)

hey, I have a question about transporting the vehicle to competition...
So I have a large balsa rod spanning the entire length of the vehicle and I'm afraid it's going to snap while transporting. So I was thinking about a box but I don't know if I should add padding or not... :|

My Buggy is in a box with padding around the sides so that the movement of the car is less therefore less chance of something moving
Padding is a good idea if your car is easily changed by movement or your car is somewhat fragile and since you think you car is fragile it would be a good idea to consider padding

My Battery Buggy is having some problems with going completely straight. I'm almost completely sure that the issue lies in how the axle and wheels are attached, and how bent the axle might be. The front axle is a regular thin metal cylinder with large rubber wheels attached (I think that is fine) and the back axle is a 6-32 threaded rod. (the braking system is a wingnut which pushes a microswitch). I'm almost sure that because that rod bends so easily and the wheels are not perfectly attached straight, the car veers to the right. How can I make my buggy go completely straight? (i.e., get some sort of factory made wheels that are built to attach to an axle instead of glueing them myself)
