1a. In myocytes, what structure produces Ca2+, and how much percent of this calcium is transported through extracellular fluid?
1b. What is the function of Ca2+ in a myocyte action potential?
2. Heparin is a molecule found in _____ (looking for a type of leukocyte), and what is its function?
3. Venous return depends on the pressure difference between the _____ and the _____ _____.
4a. Write down Poiseuille's equation. What does it describe about the resistance of a blood vessel?
4b. What two things does Poiseuille's equation assume about blood flow?
5. Why do men have higher hematocrits than women?

1a. Sarcoplasmic reticulum, idk the percent. 1b. Calcium enters the cell during Phase 2 of an action potential, and it stimulates a muscle contraction by slightly depolarizing the cell. 2. Basophils, heparin helps prevent blood from clotting. 3. Heart and systemic veins? 4a. (I didn't know how to insert some symbols). This describes that the resistance of a blood vessel is indirectly proportional to the volume flow rate, so as resistance increases then VFR decreases. 4b. ? 5. Men have higher androgen counts, which in turn stimulates more erythropoiesis.

Re: Anatomy and Physiology B/C
1a. SR is correct, and the percentage is 20%. 1b. Correct 2. Correct 3. Close -- should be right atrium and venules 4a. Correct 4b. Poiseuille's equation assumes incompressible and laminar flow. In simpler terms, this means that the equation assumes that the volume of blood stays the same throughout the vessel and that it has viscosity, respectively. 5. Correct

1. In hemostasis, a vascular spasm is caused by [vasoconstriction/vasodilation]. (Choose one) 2. Which tonsils are the most often infected? 3. White blood cells attract to a specific chemical stimuli (i.e. an antigen), what is this occurrence called? 4. What factors affect stroke volume? 5. TRUE OR FALSE: Lymphatic vessels have more valves than veins.
