what do you guys think of lego mindstorms? that is what my team has.

umm i think they are kind of weak..
i havent used them, but from the booth invatational last year, the winner almost got stuck on the zone d boundary because the wheel bent outwards and got stuck

yea i think mindstorms is bad and structuraly unsound

Isn't there something in the rules about how you're supposed to "significantly" modify your robot?

you cant just build it from a kit and claim its yours.
at booth invitational last year someone had a vexplorer and all they did was tape a piece of cardboard to the front like a plow and they were allowed to compete

well, as you can see, it isnt a very sturdy kit, but the person that won Booth Middle invitational last year used it
