That's possible - especially since Dave said his prototypes were about 3.50 grams. There might also be some pitch adjustments. But that's just me guessing.ScottMaurer19 wrote:*magic*Nano1llus10n wrote:It was an FFM kit but obviously with a few modifications. I'm not sure what they did though...Rêveur wrote:
Were these times using the FFM kit or a homemade kit?
TBH it was probably a combination of a ~3.00g helicopter, optimal rubber, perfectly built everything, and well balanced rotors.

I'm guessing the optimal rubber used was between 0.094 and 0.109, but honestly I have no ideadaydreamer0023 wrote:That's possible - especially since Dave said his prototypes were about 3.50 grams. Antoine,
Thanks very much for posting. I poked around the MIT Invite website on Monday and saw this picture too.
For those of you that attended the MIT Invite, did you get to meet Professor Mark Drela? Not sure if he would be involved, but he's the Terry J. Kohler Professor of Fluid Dynamics at MIT and is quite famous among the small world of indoor model airplane competitors.

If he was there, I didn't see him. All those who were running Heli that I saw were college age students. I would have liked to meet him though.bjt4888 wrote:Antoine,

He looked so familiar but my partner and I couldn't place him until like 2 days after when I randomly saw him on Facebook.Nano1llus10n wrote:Lol yea, one of the proctors was last year's nats heli winner, Michael Yudaydreamer0023 wrote:If he was there, I didn't see him.
