Hahaha ya the person who does mission on our team brought a 40x50x50 device that only had start and end action and just got fourth. Lol.
Mine should in theory have 12 actions including start and finish and dimensions of about 30x26x60 for this weekend. I may be a little perturbed if I don't place top 3.
My partner and I were building something like that, until we ran into a huge problem mid-production, and then we both tapped out to study for SAT Subjects and ultimately went with the bare minimum.
Best of luck man!

My study events may or may not have been put on the backburner for the past few months... Lots of catch-up over winter break.

Bro I think ur honestly fine for like the next four months
I agree, if I were you I would be MORE than a little perturbed... that's incredible! Nice work

Does the FAQ about microcontrollers, etc mean that my Arduino can sense the end of the action and then start the next one?
ex. the device mixes ammonium chloride with water, and a temperature probe, connected to an Arduino detects the dip in temperature, and then the Arduino "tells" the servo to flip the coin
Does the above scenario violate the FAQ? (It is involved in only one transfer, but more than one action)

So I'm playing around with the event score sheet for mission, and when I input dimensions like 0 cm x 0 cm x 0 cm or 7 cm x 7 cm x 7 cm versus 60 x 60 x 60 just to play around, there is no effect or change in the score column as a result of me changing the measurements. Is this a bug? Or are dimensions not being used in the score sheet for anything other than tiebreaker? Can anyone else reproduce this? Or is it just my excel being weird..... (which is very possible)

It is only involved in one action. The temperature change initiates the next action.
Think about it this way; if you have a ballbearing that falls when you remove the magnet which then strikes a lever, then the ball bearing wouldn't be considered to have been part of two actions but instead is involved in one and initiates the next.

I did mission possible for the first time at Sylvania Northview.
I build a short 1 task system that got around 850 points.
What would be a good score that would get you competitive at Michigan states?

By states, you would probably need most or all of the tasks and within a few seconds of the target time to medal. It's hard to say, given that we don't know how good is considered good for Mission this year yet.

I can confirm that the spreadsheet on the SO website for scoring does NOT work. I remember someone else also mentioning a problem. The spreadsheet does not take into account the bonus point for reduced device dimensions.
