Re: Compute This
they are planning on using it in a competition on Saturday from what i understand, and using another team's information without their permission isn't really right

Re: Compute This
Fine then. I'll change it so it's our own >>
Anyways. Back to the reason I came, because I'm assuming we can/are over that whole brouhaha..
I would like to know some good things to put on my website to help me better, and to edit it when I edit the whole website >>
Really, I just wanna make friends here and have help to help me. We can compromise, okay?

Re: Compute This
Umm...
PROTECT YOUR SITE WITH A PASSWORD!!!
(Until the competition, of course. I think they don't want us to use any postdata, or whatever you call it, for some reason.)
I just don't want this to happen again.

Re: Compute This
The password protection would be a good idea, but if you want to use it in the competition, it has to be totally 100% public. And yes I side with almost everybody on this forum, what Siht Etupmoc did was wrong. The Sewickley students probably worked really hard on their website, and you shouldn't use it for your own personal gain.

Re: Compute This
Only for the competition, right? I mean they didn't make that rule so people could steal your information just by googling it. I think it probably had something to do with the fact that an event supervisor might download a packet sniffer to make sure that no one uses online IM or email traffic, and some of those online clients could use the same protocol as some passwords. So they might think you're IMing when you're actually just logging in.
