Hey Forestrians (:
We just won our state competition yesterday (woot woot) and I'm wondering what kind of trees you guys think will be the most common down in Orlando. Not expecting local specimens on the test because I bet it's a pretty limited selection, but I'm excited to see all the east coast trees we don't have here in CA. Not just teams qualifying for Nats, but anyone who knows what will be down there

There are few trees on the national tree list in orlando. Umm...red maples, southern magnolia, various types of pine tree, live oak, and perhaps other but I'm not sure because I live in Miami, not Orlando, but when I went there for state, those are the ones I saw...oh! and definitly cabbage palmetto; it's our state tree
And what's a bummer is that you'll actually find lots of the trees on the national list in orlando. But that's as south as they go. Here, the only trees on the list that I've found so far (excluding pine trees) are live oak and cabbage palmetto. >.< sorry, I just had to say that...
