Quizlet helped me with identification, but you probably need to get really good at learning information about the birds as well. You can have the people who did Ornithology at Regionals or State help you, but if you spend too much time on Ornithology, then your chance of medalling in other events could decrease (unless you have an eidetic memory).

There may be some truth in the last part, but I would feel much better trying, than not trying at all. And learning is part of science Olympiad, saying you wouldn't try is like discouraging someone from learning and bettering themselves.
I've never been to nationals so I'm not too familiar with the competition, but you might as well try, Kokonilly. I'm curious though- what happened to the people on the event before? Did they both have conflicts?
Thanks for the tips! I've inherited the old bird guide, which I've been reading for the last couple days.
And I'm not really expecting to do too well (30th?) but yes, I figure I may as well put some effort into it. I would feel terrible if I hurt the team. And yes; both members of the former Ornithology pairing had conflicts, and my partner and I are the most interested people with that block open.
Your welcome. Since you don't have too much time, you could split the information with your partner like- one partner ID's birds on first page of list, other partner ID's birds on the other page, and both of you study general information. Or one of you does ID and the other does general information.
Anyway, Good luck at nationals!

Well, at this point I don't know how
much time I want to spend on it, but I do want to put forth an effort.

Thanks! My partner and I will probably divide the information somehow, just for the sake of time.

The bird list from last year was identical to this year's.

Is it possible for you to post a link to your Quizlet set?
