What my partner and I did was work through an object. For example: build a knex model and then don't show it to your partner, do the Write It part, have him try to Do It and then walk him/her through what your scribble means. it helps a lot

note to the builder
Today the Colorado Invatational was today and I was in WIDI. I was the person that built from my partners instructions. My team took gold in the event with recreating the structer perfectly. I find that it helps if the builder reads through the instructions again even after they have the structer done to fine tweak the structer before you state that your done. I did this and me and my partner took gold with a perfect recreation

quite a few years ago for WIDI here in BV the people doing it the writer indented each line so that the indents looked like the structers basic shape

If she said "attach a L-purple" L would already have to have been defined, right?
The rules state:
Only words and numerals may be used.
The letter "L" is not a word, it is an abbreviation.

There rules have this to say about abbreviations:
All abbreviations (not symbols) must be defined either at the beginning or when the abbreviation is first used.
.My opinion: Since you use "L-Purple" as a term, you should specifically define what "L-Purple" means. e.g.,

L-purple designates the purple objects in the shape of an "L".
You could also just write "ell," which is a word that means L-shaped object and would not require definition.

If you want the most difficult commercial building set to write with, I highly recommend going out to buy a small box of Zoobs. If you and your partner can get a structure of about 20 of those built perfectly within the time limit, you should be ready for national competition.
