I figured they were ciphers, but I seem not to be able to decode them.

Zyzzyva98 is busy practicnig his favorite piece, Sleigh Ride, on his French Horn. So deeply engrossed in it he was, playing the -pah's with great force and articulation, that he failed to notice the scent of a broken gas main. As methane fills the air, a string is pulled, a match is struck, and a flame bursts to life, quickly and explosively engulfing the house. Zyzzyva98, though great and powerful, was not spared the fires.

Sassy, mind explaining that clue? And apparently I will have Internet access, so I won't need a sub. Sorry I haven't been helping much, officers.
