Re: New York 2013
My school, I think, is also thinking about hosting its own Invitational with Great Neck North Middle, which is really close to us.
I guess, then, that if your team is willing, you could find some other school and host a tiny competition. But then that might not be worth doing, since you wouldn't really accomplish much.

Re: New York 2013
I highly doubt that anyone on my team would be willing to travel for more than an hour, to be completely honest.
There's no way on Earth that our school would be able to host an invitational. We're too poor, and besides that, we're the only team in our town and school district.

Re: New York 2013
I don't think it would that hard to hold a mini competition. You just need to find some volunteers willing to write up some events for your competition, and permission from your school to use it for the day of course. We held one last year with Murphy because the Rustin one got cancelled.
We're thinking about doing another one this year with Port Jeff too. But we don't know yet.Good luck on hosting your mini tournament

Re: New York 2013
It would be for a school district that won't even raise a penny to fund its only SO team.
'Nuff said.

Re: New York 2013
It's on the same day as the Red Creek invitational, though, which is the only one in NY, so it'd be closer to go to the one in our state.EASTstroudsburg13 wrote:You can also go to the Comet Invitational in PA. It's a couple hours closer to NY than Rustin, and I'm fairly sure Gelinas went last year too. It's not quite as competitive, but you don't have to travel as far.
You can't read this. You mad bro?

Re: New York 2013
Depends on where you live in NY. Yonkers to Red Creek is about 5 hours but Yonkers to Clarks Summit is only 2.5 hours. Binghamton to Red Creek is 2 hours while only 1 hour to Clarks Summit. New York is a big state and both the Rustin and Comet invitationals are closer than Red Creek to many schools.juicemanman wrote:It's on the same day as the Red Creek invitational, though, which is the only one in NY, so it'd be closer to go to the one in our state.

Re: New York 2013
Agreed. Either way, I'm not certain if my team would be up for it. I'll run it by my coach.

Re: New York 2013
Sorry for the double post, but it's been over a week, so I think I'll just trample over my old one-liner.
The Triple E thread is in the Study Events section, for whoever was interested in that! Just putting it out there.

Re: New York 2013
State tree list is out.
No changes though.
And apparently we now know which field guides to bring to the competition..

Yeah, I saw that at the end. I knew it was modeled after the Audubon Guide mainly, but I'm getting the NWF guide soon.FueL wrote:State tree list is out.No changes though.
