Why does everyone have something against rap?

Although it can be somewhat inappropriate...

I like to listen to it while building/studying/programming.

People have started to turn rap into like... Autotuned talking. Which is musically unacceptable. Rap is supposed to be musical, rhythmic, and poetic.

For example, one of my favorite songs is Same Love by Macklemore and Mary Lambert. The rap part in that song is pretty poetic. You can look up George Watsky on YouTube, that guy I consider a poet as well. Maybe watch his video with Candace from SoulPancake and you'll see their opinion of rap.

I personally don't favor rap, it's toooooo noisy. Not much point.
It's probably cuz I don't get it.
I have been playing chopin's scherzos, impromptus, and polonaises. Recently performed at Carnegie with four scherzos
It was SOOO tiring
As for pop, anyone listen to Jason Chen?

I enjoy music from Bemani games. I would have to say my favorite song is ΕΛΠΙΣ. Some of my other favorite songs include, but are not limited to: A, F, V, ZZ, perditus†paradisus, PARADISE LOST, snow storm, Go Beyond!!, Go For The Top, THANK YOU FOR PLAYING, e-motion, Mei, Absolute, Kakumei, Freeway Shuffle, etc.

Contrary to what others may say, dj TAKA is the best.

That makes sense. I like "The Monster" by Eminem for the same reason.
