I took 1st place in the Potato WIDI, so I'm not complaining... The whole thing looked like a bug, it was actually a really fun WIDI to build.

Also, they were small red round (almost spherical) potatoes, and the pins and toothpicks we had to insert were in distinct locations - directly up, directly left, and so on. It was definitely repeatable and fair.

Sounds a little . . . odd. And messy. I'm glad my region used normal building materials!

(I''ll give your regional proctor points for creativity though!)

Yeah, definitely a strange one...maybe they ran out of styofoam or something and the closest they could find on short notice was potatoes.

I like the potato just from an environmental stand point. Those potatoes will compost but the Styrofoam ball will be in a landfill forever :!: :!:

Do you have to define N, S, E, and W as being the cardinal directions or can you just use them?

Yes you do, because they're abbreviations.
ornithology, forestry, entomology, triple E, green generation, water quality, dynamic planet (lakes & rivers), awesome aquifers, meteorology, robot arm, write it do it. :)

if i use x to stand for pieces, for example, 2x2 blocks, will they take points off for that?
