lol thanks for your hope in bc
heh that's been dxu's motto since last year
lets see if it actually comes true this year
wow irc memories
tbh springhouse has the potential to be overtaken based on their frankly mediocre performance this year compared to others? but we haven't seen ssa compete yet, so after cornell we'll see what happens

As a way to compare results, I normalized both the results from Rustin and Garnet Valley, for PA teams who were scored at both, to a 36-team tournament (since states is 36 teams). Then I averaged the two scores together for each team. Here are those scores ranked:
  1. Springhouse - 103
  2. Bala Cynwyd - 156
  3. Harlan Rowe - 168
  4. Strath Haven - 233
  5. Eagle View - 273
  6. Abington Heights - 313
  7. Stetson - 330
  8. Good Hope - 337
  9. Orefield - 444
  10. Haverford - 501
  11. Kutztown - 503
  12. Wyoming Seminary - 560
  13. JR Fugett - 563
  14. Devon Prep - 570
  15. Northley - 668
Now, this is clearly missing the teams from the western part of the state. But to me this looks pretty realistic (with perhaps scores slightly higher).

Is there any accurate way to do this to rank all the nationals teams?

In theory, yes, but the addition of many tournaments, combined with less overlap, would require a way to adjust for tournament strength, which would introduce more assumptions (into a ranking already pretty reliant on them) and would require a bit more work. But perhaps at some point I can play around with some stuff (or someone else can take it upon themselves).

As a related point, in the above ranking, Bedford would have gotten 199, Bay Academy would have gotten 120, and Community would have gotten 59.
