The silhouettes were fine. I thought that was a pretty easy station. It's a simple matter to tell the silhouettes of a trogon, a kingfisher, and a wren apart (can't remember what the other 2 were).
Overall, I thought it was a fairly well-written test. I didn't like how it was so crowded and how the birds were on their backs, but the questions were fine and most were pretty easy. Tweety, just because you didn't study something doesn't mean that it's a bad question.
I didn't think it was uncalled for, it's just really hard to look for scientific names and answer 3 general questions when your partner barely knows what he's doing. Or maybe I'm just making excuses.
I didn't like how crowded it was either.. I thought we did pretty good especially since a lot of other teams seemed almost clueless. Obviously, that doesn't mean we'd get a medal, but I just hope we got top ten... >.<

Why did you think that the silhouettes were ridiculous?

I thought they were OK it was just that in the last few years, doing ornithology I had never seen things like some of the questions she had on there even last year at states being at the same place, and i thought it was a little odd I was more commenting on somebody else's and when I posted that I was half asleep so I worded differently than I had meant to.

yes, they would and we showed up at our ornithology event yesterday and they told us we could have two bird guides, two two sided sheets of notes, and two bird lists and we were confused and mad at the same time. are event supervisors allowed to change parameters like that?
They didn't change anything, its in the rule book and if you look farther back in the forum, theres a whole discussion about it.

Event supervisors are not allowed to change parameters...
...but that is IN THE PARAMETERS.

I tried to upload it to the wiki, but it was too big. So I deleted lots of slides and tried again. It was still too big. I assume it's too big for a regular hosting site as well. I don't know what to do.

...maybe just have links to the pictures? I think that might make it smaller.

Oh sorry... I guess we just saw that it said one sheet of notes, one bird book, etc. but it said per student Thanks for letting me know that anyways because that just goes to show us that we need to read parameters extremely closely

Ya I know but I meant in general....I like birds but its definitely not my favorite. It's kind of one of those events that we always do awful on. We were surprised that we got 6th at regionals though.
