Re: Elevated Bridge B/C
Wow... which regionals did you go to? That definitely didn't happen in the Everett or Seattle regionals.twiggy_7 wrote:Hey so I live in washington and at my regionals last month we had 2 pour wet sand do u think this will happen at state to? btw I got 1st my bridge held 14.5 kg and weighed 14.7g. I'm working on a new design right now AHHH state is saturday and I have WASL's all this week
From personal experience, I can guarantee the sand will be dry at state. I loaded a tower in Vancouver at State two years ago, and the event coordinator knows how to run the event. Of course, this is assuming that the same person will be in charge.
Which division are you in?
Good luck with WASLs... those are such a pain.

Re: Elevated Bridge B/C
Sorry to double post, but I have a question for Balsa Man.
Did your son take first with 1500? It's a lovely score, but I'm curious what the other scores in the competition were like.

Re: Elevated Bridge B/C
yea it was way hard to pour (we had like Mickey D's cup to use so they got soggy) and there was less sand then if it were dry. I'm division B and was in the Spokane CC regionals. haha I almost wonder if since it was snowy on regionals if they got sand from outside and it got wet =]] or they didnt get enough so they had to make it weigh more by adding water

Re: Elevated Bridge B/C
Do you have any sense of how the C scores turned out?

Re: Elevated Bridge B/C
if yur asking me then yes when I filled my bucket with sand half way they said I had held more then neone else so far (all the C division had gone) and at the end they said my bridge did better then ne of the high skoolers even so that mean they have effiencies like under 900

Re: Elevated Bridge B/C
Okay, thanks so much. The scores in B divison at Seattle U were no higher than 300, and the top three scores at Everett CC were between 1000 and 1200. Have you been able to improve your efficiency since regionals?

Re: Elevated Bridge B/C
Good luck with that bridge! What do you estimate that it will score?

Second was 1013 (Cherry Creek - a very nice job),
3rd was about 750, then down into the 500s.
Next lightest was 12.3.
I believe I took a picture of the score board- I'll post more details this evening.
