I also thought of MagiKarp with the fish thing.
The "Ess, essssssss" part made me think of Parseltongue and for some strange reason Latin.
"Red-haired boy" made me think of Ron, but it could mean someone else as well. Maybe the sassy knows someone IRL with red hair?

Unfortunately, since I haven't read Harry Potter, I can't help on that. However, "Ess, essssssss" to me seems like the letter "s" twice, and the first person I can think of is Sensei_Sushi.

That might be right, because fish is in sushi (sometimes).

I also checked out his profile, and there's a "visit website" thing that leads to something that looks like a snake. Should I protect?

I think the "special colored" phrase might also refer to the website. If you could protect me that would be great

OK. I protect Sensei_Sushi because "Ess, essssssss" could refer to the initials of his username, fish is in sushi, and his website is special-colored, as well as having something that looks like a snake.

As I sulked at my failure to kill some of my previous targets, I realized that the sound I'd heard had given me a great idea for my next target. They never saw it coming. Eat_sleep_so is dead.
ID clue- one is normalized, the other tripled.
