yeah...the practices at my school are soo fun when we rn't doing anything releated to scio
The first practice for my States team was spent mixing chemicals. Great, er, slightly explosive fun! :D

Anyway I thought I mentioned this, but I can't find my post, so I'll write it here. The studying for Crave at invites consisted of looking at a middle school level Physics book learning the word "rarefaction." My partner didn't do that. I literally walked around the school 5 minutes before my event, found someone who's noon was open, and informed him he was doing Crave ( :D ). I tried to give a semi-decent guess but for one we just wrote "good question". The sup put a smiley face next to that :D

Interesting discussion I had with my meteorology partner:

50. What is one way to stay safe from lightning during a thunderstorm?

"Obviously, just get indoors"
"No! Put the car thing, like there's rubber or some-"
"No, we're putting 'get indoors'."

This isn't exactly Science Olympiad, but still...

On most of the tests that my science teacher gives us, one or two of the multiple choice questions will be like this:

A. (...)
B. (...)
C. (...)
D. I do not know the answer. Mark this question wrong and give me a C.

I graded the Fossil event at the division B regionals a few weeks ago, and one of the stations had the 2 sponges, Astraeospongia and the other one whose name escapes me (heliophylum?). Anyway, a lot of people just put "sponge" for both, though they asked for genus, but my favorite answer was "Dinosaur :D ". I still had to mark them wrong, but I laughed.

And when I was in 9th grade, my friends got put on Disease Detective a week before regionals, and they had no idea what was going on. For one of the questions, they had no idea, so they started going "Eeny Meeny Miny Mo", and the proctor, who is a teacher at our school, heard them and bursted out laughing.

Once on a Bio-Process test, the answer to the question was 50%, and when I wrote it, apparently the 5 looked like an S so they thought it said SO% and marked it wrong -_-
