I guess I can't see it crushing in that direction befor the egg breaks. Ehh, but if it does then that seems to violate the spirit of the rules. I just used plywood personally, no problem there.

I think that's completely up to you. You can saw a log from a tree and put wheels on it. As long as it fits into regulations.

Egg must be on the start line, the car with the device that supply the energy should not be longer than a meter, nothing can fall of it when launched or during the run, etc. I don't if this is what your are looking for. If something happened at competition that you don't think was right it would help if you gave the specific question.

What do you mean by automatic
It will stop on its own at a certain point
Like iwonder said that would be a wing nut brake system or one of the others on the brake system on the wiki (http://scioly.org/wiki/index.php/Scrambler#Brakes) and you can add your own upgrades to these systems to make them better.[/quote]

We looked into it yet we still need more help...

How we can build the brakes... In our design we would have to cut out half our car on the inside to do the brakes

If you haven't seen it, here's a nice explanation and video of how wingnut braking works. Aside from rolling smoothly, braking is pretty much the most important function of the car. If it's not easy to modify your current design to have brakes, it might be better to adopt a more conventional design. (form follows function)

Most people are probably going for the maximum 2kg, since that gives the most gravitational potential energy that can be used to accelerate the car.
