Re: Duration
are you a senior or something like that? you should probably be able to direct some of what's happening.
yeah our differences between flat/curved were like, maybe 30 or so seconds of a difference. Well the flat ones were kind of overweight so I can't say for certain.

No i'm a Junior. Really? 30 seconds? thats awesome definitely worth looking into. We are planning on working in overdrive mode to hopefully achieve 3:30 for nats. Probably not but at least 3 should be doable.

Re: Duration
well we stuck to the basics.
1) KEEP YOUR WEIGHT AT THE MINIMUM!! this is crucial to getting the best time
2) be precise when building props. balance is very important
3) experiment a lot! we have over 15 helis in various places that we have tried..,
After that it just take practice, a fine knowledge of the details of your particular heli, and a tiny bit of luck.

Yea were building four more for the way up to states in Ohio, hopefully we get a medal at all would be good for the disasters we had all year. Built seven helicopters all but one broke at least once.

Re: Duration
Petty much all of our old ones are in pieces. We threw them all in a box we labeled the grave yard and we use the pieces for random stuff now.

Re: Duration
Do you use mylar to cover your props?
That must take a long time to build 15 >.> I was only able to get a few done before states. Also, what were you experimenting with? pitch?

Re: Duration
We were pretty desperate a week ago. our good 2:20 heli was broken so we were trying everything including pitch, rubber torque and weight distribution.
And yes we use mylar.
